Lee and Dorothy Groves
Founder
From one service truck running out of their garage in 1968 to the 100+ employees we now have, Lee and Dorothy built this company from the ground up. As Lee said in an interview with Construction News, “The secret to success is just to work hard and often- and if you don’t want to do it, you just do it anyway.” Lee still lived by that until his passing in February 2016. We will work hard and often for you during the bidding, construction, and warranty periods of the project until the work is done. Groves Electric is his legacy and we are honored to keep it going.

William H. “Bill” Groves
President
Bill grew up at Lee’s side, helping with any project he could. He soon developed the same passion for the electrical trade as his father. At thirteen, he began working after school and during summer breaks under his father’s tutelage. He became a Journeyman Electrician at the age of 20 in 1984 and a Master Electrician in 1996. Bill grew our service department from everyday residential to the commercial, industrial, street, parking lot, and ball park illumination expert it is today. He uses his expertise in the electrical field to give fair and competitive estimations to residential and commercial customers alike. His favorite aspect of his job is that it always changes and Bill is usually the one driving that change, pushing the company to be better. Taking after his father, Bill works hard to make sure Groves Electric is the best in the business.
Bill has worked on hundreds of projects over his lifetime at Groves with the most notable being CFBISD’s Standridge Stadium, Parkland COHC, Plano Municipal Center, Railroad St. Athletic Complex, Jones Blair Paint, Elm Fork Athletic Complex, Catalina Glass, and Craig T. Ranch Athletic Complex

As the daughter of Lee and Dorothy Groves, at a very young age Selena was taught how to answer the house phone politely and in a businesslike manner in case it was a customer calling. Coming on full time in 1986, she has worn several hats and accumulates more daily. Her main duties include Accounts Payables, Purchasing, Workplace Safety, and anything that is needed to keep Groves running behind the scenes.
Her favorite aspect of her job is the people she is blessed to work with every day, from employees to vendors.
